How our CSA works

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Our CSA program is our exclusive produce share membership where you receive a share of our bounty all season long. When you join our farm family, you get the wonderful opportunity to connect personally with us, the farmers who lovingly grow your food. By being part of a CSA, you are helping to rebuild the lost connection between consumer and producer: something that used to be commonplace before food became something that you purchase in a package from grocery store shelf.

CSA allows you access to a food source you can trust. By personally knowing your farmers, you have the opportunity to ask questions and to really understand how your food is being grown and what practices we are following to insure that the food you are getting is the most nutritious and delicious on the market.

A very special aspect of being a CSA member is that you will learn to eat with the seasons. Unlike imported food, every item you get in our shares is fresh and in season. That means you’ll only get strawberries in the spring. And you won’t find tomatoes in your January shares.

In our CSA you have endless options to help make our program the best fit for your lifestyle. We deliver weekly to 4 local pick up locations. We offer fully customizable shares so that you only get what you will use, and we also include optional add-ons like eggs, bread, and occasionally fresh flowers. You’ll have the option to choose to receive a share every week, or every other week, based on your own needs.
Each box is filled with approximately $30-$40 worth of fresh produce, and on top of that, you will have the option to add even more seasonal items each week.

The current prices for our CSA membership are:

Spring/Summer 2022
$363 for a bi-weekly share (11 boxes at $33 each)
$726 for a weekly share (22 boxes at $33 each)

Fall/Winter 2022

How Farm Stand works

Think of Farm Stand as an online store; Its there if you want it, but theres no commitment. Our Farm Stand program is a great option if you travel frequently or for other reasons cannot commit to a weekly share throughout the season. Each week at the designated times you have the option to order seasonal items that we list as available. When ordering opens, you do want to hurry as it’s first come first serve to ALL farm stand members. If you place a farm stand order you will pick up your order at one of the same 4 delivery locations as our CSA members. You’ll choose which locations is best for you when you sign up for Farm Stand

A huge benefit to being a Farm Stand customer is that you get dibs on joining our CSA program twice a year when we have spaces available. Our CSA is always full to overflowing, so you’ll want this special pass if the CSA is something you are interested in.

CSA FAQ's

What is a CSA

Community Supported Agriculture (or CSA) is an innovative concept that has revived family farms across the country.

In a CSA, the farmer enters into an agreement with a “community” of consumers to supply them with a regular “share” of fresh produce. The consumers pay for this service in (often in advance), and the farmer then grows, harvests, and divides the produce among the shareholders.

This concept has proven very rewarding for both the farmer and the community.. The farmer gains some crop "insurance" and marketing "assurance." The customers gain the satisfaction of knowing they are supporting local, sustainable, family farming. They also feel a closer connection with the land and the farmers who grow their food.

What kind of produce can we expect in the box?

Spring produce will include:

Carrots, beets, radishes, gourmet turnips, lettuce, spinach, asian greens, asparagus, arugula, fennel, kohlrabi, escarole, cooking greens (kale, collards, Swiss chard), broccoli, cabbage, scallions, strawberries, and more….

Summer produce will include:

Tomatoes, green beans, sweet corn, cucumbers, eggplant, okra, onions, peppers, potatoes, summer squash and zucchini, garlic, watermelons, blueberries, basil, dill, and more….

Fall produce will include:

Everything on the spring list (except for asparagus and strawberries) , plus many of the summer crops (through October), plus sweet potatoes, winter squash, Brussels sprouts, and more….

Winter produce will include:

Our famous winter “candy” carrots, lush head lettuce, greens like kale, collards, chard, and root crops like radishes, turnips, rutabagas. Also spinach, salad mix, celery, sweet and Irish potatoes, winter squash, and more….

How many people will a full share subscribtion feed?

We deliver in a 2/3 bushel tote. Depending on the season and the value of the produce inside, often they are packed full. However, sometimes it is less. This is because things like greens in the spring and fall take up lots of space, while tomatoes and peppers in the summer are compact and don’t take as much space, but are worth more. We do our best to be generous with our produce. We have single customers who easily use a full share, and we have families who split a half share. If you eat at home and cook from scratch, you will have no problem using a full share. In fact you may decide to upgrade to 2 full shares! If you eat out a lot, and/or have picky eaters in your family, you will likely be satisfied with a half share.
