September 4-8, 2023. Introduction to Market Gardening. This workshop will assume you already have a general knowledge of growing and now you are exploring the possibility of doing this on a market scale. Or maybe you have already ventured into market gardening and want to expand your operation.  This class is for you! We will cover all aspects of market gardening, focusing especially on tools and techniques for efficiency. You will also help harvest and market at one of our Farmer’s Markets. Appropriate for those seeking to start a family farm (like ours) or for institutional farmers trying to build up a new (or struggling) program. 

Training Location: Our farm is located at 654 Dry Prong Rd. Williamsport, TN

Registration: $50.00 per application.  This registration fee is non-refundable.  

Books: $50.00 per application. The two textbooks are The New Organic Grower by Eliot Coleman and The Lean Farm by Ben Hartman. Additional books can be purchased if you want more than one set per family. If you already have these books, you can choose from other books we have available).  

Tuition Cost: Tuition is on a donation basis because we know that all do not have the same ability to support this program.  We ask that you prayerfully support this Agricultural Education Ministry and make a donation of your choosing to help us continue this valuable training to those eager to get back to the land as God has intended.
